Valley gallop officially re opens 16th March
Our wonderful valley gallop opens again today after extensive re surfacing ahead of the new season. Last year Mum and I travelled to Ireland to view the Old Vic gallop at the Curragh and facilities at Ballydoyle. Aiden was extremely helpful along with his assistant Chris and Macroom hauliers have transported our surface over to us. A huge thank you to Geoff Budd for completing the work for us.
With the winter hopefully behind us and some better weather forecast we can look forward to the 2024 turf season with all the Coombelands horses in good form. In the last ten days three winners have been trained from Coombelands; first up was our own Freetodream storming down the outside at Kempton to win his second race, next up at Wolverhampton the David Menuisier trained Egoiste was game to win from his inside lane and then two days later Luke Dace saddled The Defiant to win at Chelmsford. Chocolate Hobbnob is our next runner at Huntingdon on Sunday and then on to Good Friday with our all weather winners Count Otto and Freetodream.
The breeze up season is nearly upon us and catalogues are available in the office and just a couple of shares still available in Lady Manzor, Timmy is very keen on her!
