All-Weather Gallops

We welcome people to use our all-weather gallops, they are open all year round except in extreme freezing conditions. We have the Valley gallop, 8 furlong. Please see our facility map  to see where the ‘Valley Gallop’ is located at Coombelands.

The famous gallops which have helped condition Champion racehorses such as Dancing Brave, Warning and latterly Wonderful Tonight and Lavender’s Blue.

The Valley Gallop is available to hire from 1pm till 4pm Monday to Saturday and 9am till 4pm on a Sunday all year round, light permitting.

Our woodchip gallops provide a safe and enjoyable ride around Coombelands, warm up on the Across The Top track and walk down for your fast work on the eight furlong Valley track. They work on a one way system, please ensure you use the valley gallop for cantering and galloping only, no walking or trotting on this gallop.  Price per horse £24 inc VAT.

The Valley Gallop (No 6 on our facility map) is the only Gallop available for hire.
