The Team
Amanda, Mark, Lucinda and Jim work alongside a team of dedicated staff members many who have been at Coombelands for over 20 years. The whole team are extremely passionate and all offer a wealth of industry knowledge and experience that allows them to deliver the highest quality of services from care of the racehorses to building and maintaining the facilities at both Coombelands Racing Stables, Equestrian and Farm.

Amanda Perrett
Trainer and Partner in Coombelands Equestrian
With her father Guy Harwood being one of the great racehorse trainers of the 20th century, Amanda was brought up around racehorses. She was a successful amateur jockey winning 90 races and became the first lady to ride in the Champion Hurdle at the 1990 Cheltenham Festival. Amanda was also a successful three day event rider and won numerous events and represented her country in Italy.
Mark Perrett
Assistant Trainer
Mark Perrett, son of jockey Phil Perrett and the grandson of racehorse trainer Major Champneys, was a successful National Hunt jockey who rode over 900 winners including enjoying success with seven winners at the Cheltenham Festival and both the Scottish and Welsh Grand Nationals. Laterlery he rode successfully as a flat jockey winning on one of his Cheltenham Festival winners Balasani at Royal Ascot for Martin Pipe.
Lucinda Crowley
Partner
Lucinda is partner to Coombelands Equestrian with her sister Amanda. Lucinda rode very successfully as an amateur jockey, show jumping and eventing. As a mother of three, Lucinda juggles the running of events whilst raising her children who are also keen equestrian riders.

Nick Lammas
Groundsman
Nick, known by all as Zeddie has been working at Coombelands for 42 years. He has played an important role in shaping the gallops in to what they are today. In particular, Zeddie maintains the underground irrigation systems which enables us to have suitable ground conditions to train the horses on a daily basis.
John Farrell
Equestrian Manager
John Ray Farrell, has a very hands on role, managing all equine matters from Course Building to maintain the surfaces within our arenas and helping run events. John has been a course builder for 40+ years, building a good variety of courses for the PC, BSPC, BS (Level 4) and Eventing. He has been Coombelands Equestrian main course builder for 8 years now. He is based in Leatherhead, where his Son Nathan also course builds for Coombelands on British Show jumping days.
Kevin Church
Farm Manager
Kevin, the Farm Manager, has managed the estate for the last 30 years which has seen many changes over those years, from having a dairy herd and arable on the estate and now moving to more equine involvement with the show jumping and event course. The farm also host corporate events for the Harwoods Motor Group on our 4 x 4 course.
Kevin will always be found on the farm along with helping Amanda and Lucinda on event days. Kevin’s interests are skiing, cycling and rugby where he is the groundsman for Pulborough Rugby Club

Director
Matt graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1991 before joining a large mixed practice in Hampshire. He took time out to travel the world, stopping briefly to work in New Zealand before returning to the UK as an intern in an equine referral practice in Lambourn.
In 1995 he joined the ambulatory team of the Arundel Equine Hospital and was awarded his Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon’s Certificate in Equine Internal medicine in 1997. In 1998 he went to South Africa to work in a racehorse practice in Johannesburg. Returning to Arundel in 2000, he gained his RCVS Certificate in Anaesthesia in 2003 and became a partner in the practice in 2005. Matt has an interest in all aspects of horse care.
Outside of work, endurance sports such as triathlon, road and mountain biking keep him busy whilst his knees last.
