FARM
KEVIN CHURCH
Coombelands is a private, traditional agricultural Estate covering just over 500 acres situated in the South Downs, Pulborough, West Sussex. Kevin, the Farm Manager, has managed the estate for the last 30 years.
We host corporate events for the Harwoods Motor Group on our 4 x 4 course. Today we still have arable cropping and a large percentage of that is forage maize for local farmers and AD plants and we make about 15,000 small bales of hay a year for the wider equine market, along with all the straw that comes from our arable land which is used for bedding. The manure from the racing yard is used as fertilizer back onto our cropping land.
We graze about 1500 sheep through the winter as part of our crop rotation. We also graze 50 cattle after hay making in the summer. We carry out a lot of grain handling and cleaning for our local grain merchant, Bartholomews. They also provide us with agronomy and seed supplies.
Kevin will always be found on the farm along with helping Amanda and Lucinda. Kevin’s interests are skiing, cycling and rugby where he is the groundsman for Pulborough Rugby Club.
