We were very happy to get the sales season with a bang at Goffs Doncaster Premier yearling sale. We managed to secure this cracking Calyx colt out of Jeanne Girl who was a winner at 2 and placed in a Group 2 rated 97. She is two from two, with one of her progeny being the very exciting Ballinea Star. She has won twice including the Anglesey Stakes Group 3, has been Group 1 placed when 4th in the Moyglare Stakes and 3rd in the Goffs Million race at the Curragh picking up 110,000 euros in prize money in that race.
Calyx won 3 races value £154,958 at 2 and 3 years over 6f including the Coventry Stakes Group 2 and Pavillion Stake Group 3. He stands at Coolmore Stud his winners to runners is 59% and 2yo winners to runner 43%.
With his precious pedigree and early birth date, this colt is an ideal candidate for the £500,000 Harrys Half Million By Goffs sales race at York on 19th August 2027, the cost of his sales entry is included in the sale price. There are also ten £25,000 winners bonus to be won and he is IRE qualified.

Little Mama Bear
Little Big Bear – Ceol An Ghra (Teofilo)

A racy daughter of Champion 2yo Little Big Bear who comes from the Scat Daddy line which Coolmore are using more and more of in the breeding at the moment. He was the winner was the winner of the Phoenix Stakes Gr 1, Curragh by seven lengths, beating subsequent Group 1 winners Persian Force and Bradsell. He also won the Sandy Lane Stakes Gr 2 Haydock and Anglesey Stakes Gr 3, Curragh and The Windsor Castle L at Royal Ascot. He was rated the best 2yo in Europe with a Timeform rating of 126p.
His yearlings have reached up to 750,000gns.
The dam, Ceol An Ghra won over 6f and was rated 88. She has produced Lady Vivian rated 99, who has won 2 races and placed 3 times including 2nd in Esher Stakes, Listed at Sandown and Prix Panacee Listed at Toulouse. Under the 2nd dam are Group 1 performers Loch Garnman , winner of the Criterium Saint Cloud and Rehn’s Nest wo was placed 2nd in the Irish 1000 Guineas, Curragh.

This strong, exceptional moving colt by the exciting young sire Blackbeard who was Cartier Champion 2yo colt in 2022. He won six races from five to six furlongs including the Middle Park Gr 1 at Newmarket, Prix Morny Gr 1 at Deauville and Prix Robert Papin Gr 2 at Chantilly. He again from the Scat Daddy line and is already having a level of success with 45% winners to runners on the racecourse in 2026.
The dam has produced one winner from one runner and under the second dam is Group 3 winner Lesson In Humility who in turn has bred Tiger Moth a Group 3 winner and second in the Irish Derby and Stallion Coach House.

This attractive filly by Champion Sprinter Harry Angel from a wonderful filly’s family going back to Bulaxie which has produced 14 black type runners was purchased at the Tattersals Guineas breeze up sale.
She ran a super first race in a hot race at Newbury to finish fourth and has since followed up this good run with two very promising runs at Epsom to finish 3rd and 4th.
Ebt’s Guard finished an excellent 4th in the Celebration Mile Group 2 at Goodwood in August, boosting her value as a broodmare longer term. She is qualified for the GBB bonus of up to £20,000 if winning a qualifying race.
She is now having a holiday for six weeks before returning in the New Year to run on the all weather before the start of the turf season in March.

New Bay won the French Derby and is the sire of 18 Stakes performers in 2025 and 46 in total including Saffron Beach and sires Bay Bridge and Bayside Boy.
Since having him gelded he has come on in leaps and bounds; he’s a good looking individual who is quick to learn his job will benefit from his first run at Kempton. Runs next at Bath on 29th October.
