Zikany romps in at Goodwood

Two years to the day, track and race since his last win Zikany travelled smoothy throughout his race to win The Alderbrook Jump Jockeys Handicap at Goodwood for the second time. An injury kept him off the track last year but he has come back in great form and won going away in desperate ground, the race being over 20 seconds slow of average, it was certainly more like a jump race than a flat one.

We are all so delighted for his owner Avril Lewis, she has shown immense patience with this horse and she was delighted with him. The horses have run well this week, both Virtue Temperance and Unreal Connection were placed 2nd at Chelmsford on Thursday and we look forward to getting their heads back in front soon. As for Zikany, all being well he will now head to the Apprentice race at Newbury a week on Friday where he will carry a 5lbs penalty.
